Great runs of Spring salmon and Grilse can be located in this river, with the best Spring salmon being caught early in the season. The Grilse fishing is at its best in June. Sea trout can also be had here although they are few.

It holds a heavy stock of brown trout as well as recieving good runs of salmon and sea-trout. The brown trout are very numerous and rise well to the fly. There is a good sprinkling of excellent brown trout over 1.5lb that may be caught on fly by the careful angler. Laune trout are beautifully marked and are very hard fighters. Fish of over 5lbs have been caught in the tidal waters in the vicinity of Killorgin.
