River Finnihy

Catch: Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout

Location: The Finnihy river is situated flowing into Kenmare Bay, a short distance west of the town of Kenmare.

Description: The Finnihy is a short rather small shallow spate river, which produces some Grilse in all seasons. Small runs of Seatrout after spates from June onwards. It is very overgrown in most places with few holding pools. Wadable in most places.

Season: Sea trout & Brown trout are taken during March 15th – October 12th, with Salmon fishing during March 15th – September 30th.

Cost: Free; Riparian ownership is fractured. Enquiries on the fishing should be made to the Estate Office, The Square, Kenmare.

Methods: Fly, worming and spinning.
