River Sneem
Catch: Salmon & Sea Trout.
Location: The River Sneem drains a number of small lakes, and can be found on the coast flowing into Kenmare Bay at the town of Sneem.
Description: Angling here is productive for small runs of Griles and Sea trout which are taken from June through to September, with the odd Salmon. This is very much a spate river. The fishing is controlled by the Sneem Anglers Association apart from a short section above the town bridge which is in private hands and the fishing is let with a holiday cottage.
Season: Sea Trout are taken during March 15th – October 12th, with Salmon fishing during March 15th – September 30th.
Cost: Enquiries on the fishing should be made to the Sneem Anglers Association care of the Tourist Information Office by the Bridge. Permits are available here also.
